Sometimes referred to as PayGo, a pay as you go wireless plan is a type of prepaid wireless plan that has no contract, commitment, or monthly bill. While as mentioned there is no monthly bill, you may have an allotted amount of time to add minutes to your plan before you lose your cell phone number. This is normally between 60 to 90 days, and it’s standard with all pay as you go providers.
Other than that, you only add minutes or air time when you need it. Top up, or reload cards can be as low as $10, and you can order those online, over your phone with a credit card, check card, or debit card, or find them in most local stores.
Calling time is deducted per minute, or per unit, and texting is deducted at the same rate as calling time unless you subscribe to an additional text package. If you like to talk a lot this is not a good plan for you. Pay as you go plans are best for just the occasional phone call, or just to have around as a convenience, or emergency purposes.
